An elegant almond-toned classic tortoiseshell (kikko) pattern in Nishijin-ori, elevated further by a perfectly matched ecru.

Made from an almond-colored tortoiseshell-pattern eco-poly Nishijin-ori body, finished with high-performance ecru synthetic leather. Genuine leather is used at the shoe's opening for a comfortable fit, adding both durability and a premium feel.

Nishijin-ori: Kyoto's Traditional Woven Textile

Nishijin-ori is a yarn-dyed patterned textile woven in Kyoto's Nishijin district, known for producing many varieties in small batches. It is widely regarded as a byword for fine Japanese textiles, and has been used in the garments of the imperial court since the Heian period.

Using a technique that weaves in threads of finely cut gold and silver leaf, known as "haku," Nishijin-ori passes through more than 20 production processes to achieve its signature vivid colors and delicate patterns.

In 1976, twelve Nishijin-ori techniques were officially recognized as a Traditional Craft of Japan — a tradition and quality that continue to be highly regarded to this day.
